Therapy can make a difference.
As a psychoanalytic therapist, my goal is to help you maximize your potential, improve the quality of your relationships, and to help you better understand the path you have traveled and the journeys ahead. I believe that many of our most fundamental struggles (whether they be depression, anxiety, loneliness, addiction) are in some way related to how we participate in, think about, and construct our interpersonal relationships. Important to changing the ways we think and feel is understanding how our minds work and how we've learned to think and feel in our relationships.
For these reasons, I think collaboration is important in therapy. My hope is to work with you to use your talents, curiosity, and strengths to eliminate confusion, reduce depression, and empower you to make important changes, both inside you and in the world around you. My style is genuine and authentic so that clients feel comfortable talking about parts of their life that are stressful, frustrating, and painful.
I work with a wide variety of clients. Though I consider myself a generalist and work with a wide variety of issues, I am especially skilled in work with depression, anxiety, sexual concerns, compulsive behaviors, trauma, and loss. I have particular comfort and skill working with LGBT clients.
If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, shame, or even if you just need some extra support through a difficult time, I would look forward to working with you. Don't hesitate to contact me today to set up an initial appointment.
